Outlook has been randomly starting like this for some people. This is what Outlook looks like when the Folder Pane isn’t visible on the left. Notice the left column with Inbox and the subfolders. This is what Outlook looks like normally. It’s like all the folders have disappeared. Outlook starts up normally but something doesn’t seem right.

Some Outlook 2016 users have been running into a bug that was apparently introduced by an update in April. (Except when Outlook throws a fit and requires a rebuild of the mail profile, which seems to happen about 10% of the time.)

It’s a modest upgrade at best, as the programs are virtually identical to the 2013 versions, but it feels good to get the latest version for free, right? When you click “Update Office” in the banner that appears in the Office programs, you’ll start a process that takes 10-30 minutes and is usually painless.

Microsoft has been urging everyone with an Office 365 license for the Office programs to update to Office 2016. Add any shared calendars you need back to Outlook 2011, excluding the shared calendar you no longer want to see.Here’s the story of an odd Outlook 2016 bug that you might run into.Notice that you no longer have a list of shared calendars.

Add your Office 365 account to Outlook 2011 again. To remove a calendar from the Shared Calendars list in Outlook 2011, you must do the following: It does not remove it from the Shared Calendars list. This just hides the calendar from your view, though. To hide the calendar, you can remove the check mark next to the shared calendar’s name. There is no easy way to remove a shared calendar from your list of calendars in Outlook 2011. You can add the shared calendar back to your list of calendars at any time by following the instructions for opening a shared calendar. It has only been removed from your list.ĥb. The calendar has not actually been deleted or removed from the Exchange server. The calendar disappears from your list of calendars.ĥa. In Office 365, click Remove Calendar from the pop-up menu. If you want to remove the shared calendar from from your list of calendars in Outlook 2010, Outlook 2016, or Office 365, do the following:ġb. Outlook 2010, Outlook 2016, and Office 365 (Outlook Web App) However, in Outlook 2011, the only way to remove a shared calendar is by removing your account and then setting it back up again. This process is easy in Outlook 2010, 2016, and Office 365 (Outlook Web App). If you want to remove a shared calendar from the list of calendars on the left side of your Outlook or Office 365 (Outlook Web App) window, you can do so. You can display and hide these calendars by adding and removing a check mark from the box next to the calendar name. When you add shared calendars in Outlook 2010, Outlook 2011,Outlook 2016, and Office 365 (Outlook Web App), they appear in a list of calendars on the left side of the window. You can always add shared calendars back when you need them again. You can remove shared calendars from Outlook 2010, Outlook 2011,Outlook 2016, and Office 365.
